TIPS #5 German Angst : Cybercrime Ecosystem in the DACH Region

Abdelkader Cornelius (Recorded Future)
The aim of this presentation is to give the participants a more detailed insight into the emergence and development of the German-speaking cybercrime economy. For this purpose, findings from 15 years of underground economy research for the German-speaking cybercrime area were used as well as basic reports from German-speaking investigating authorities and IT security vendors. The results and information show a self-contained and highly differentiated underground economy with strong differences from well-known cybercrime economies such as those in Eastern Europe. The content of the presentation will be of interest both to newcomers to threat intelligence and to experienced threat researchers as well as to investigative authorities.
